Covers tops, dresses, bottoms, petite and tall fits, plus shoes — sized 00–18 and XXS–XXL. Charts show body measurements taken over your usual undergarments, not garment measurements.
Body measurements taken over your usual undergarments, with arms relaxed at your sides. If you fall between two sizes, size up for woven styles with no stretch.
Ann Taylor tailoring is polished and close to true to size; soft knits and blouses can run slightly generous, so many shoppers go down one size in relaxed styles.
With a bent elbow, measure from the center back of your neck, across the shoulder, then from shoulder to elbow and elbow to wrist.
Body measurements. Bust leads the fit for most dress styles — match your bust first, then check waist and hip for fitted sheaths.
Ponte knit and bi-stretch styles are forgiving — you can size down if between sizes. Non-stretch cotton, linen, crepe and tweed have no give, so buy your chart size.
Let the fabric be the tie-breaker: go down in stretchy knits, stay true to size or up in structured wovens — especially across the shoulders and bust.
Body measurements. Hips are measured about 8 in (20 cm) below your natural waist, standing with heels together. Fit your waist first — the cut relaxes slightly through the day.
Full-length jeans run about a 26 in inseam, petite about 24 in, and ankle styles start around 25 in. Tall styles add length for anyone 5′9″ and over.
Curvy styles are fitted at the waist and fuller through the hip and thigh — designed to close the back waist gap if you are smaller-waisted and fuller-hipped.
Cut for 5′4″ (163 cm) and under — shorter sleeves, torso and shoulder width, not just a shorter hem. Body measurements.
Hips measured about 7 in (18 cm) below your natural waist. Petite pants inseams typically run around 28½ in for full-length styles.
Cut for 5′9″ (175 cm) and over, or anyone who finds standard sleeves too short — longer sleeves, torso and updated proportions. Body measurements.
Hips measured about 8 in (20 cm) below your natural waist. Tall jeans carry an inseam of about 26 in.
Published US, UK and EU conversions, including half sizes. When you land between two lengths, the safer choice is the larger size.
A pointed pump fits differently from the same size in a rounded flat or sandal — consider a half size up for pointed or strappy styles.
Feet swell slightly by afternoon. Trace your foot on paper and measure heel to longest toe, then fit the larger of your two feet.
With your arms at your sides, measure the fullest part of your chest keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
Hold your arm with a bend at the elbow. Starting at the center of the back of your neck, measure across your shoulder, then from shoulder to elbow, and elbow to wrist.
Position the tape where your waist is smallest and measure all the way around — this is your natural waist. Keep the tape snug but not tight.
Stand with your heels together, then measure around your body about 8 in below your waist. For Petite fits, measure 7 in below the waist; for Tall fits, 9 in below.
Measure your best-fitting pants from the seam at the crotch to the hem, to the nearest ½ in.
For you if most clothing fits without alterations. Hems and proportions follow the standard chart above.
For 5′4″ and under. Proportions are re-engineered — shorter inseams, raised armholes and adjusted sleeve and bust placement, not just shorter hems.
Fitted just right at the waist and fuller through the hip and thigh, to eliminate waist gapping. Also available in Petite.
Extra length and updated proportions for anyone 5′9″ and above — longer sleeves, longer torso and inseam.
Applies to tops, dresses and bottoms. UK covers the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand; the EU column covers Germany, Scandinavia, Austria and the Netherlands.
Conversions follow Ann Taylor’s published sizing. Measurements are approximate and provided for reference only.
